Heh. That's kinda like me. >_> Of course, there are some places that I simply do not want to do over again just to get one blue coin. Namely the Sand Bird stage. Oh God, spare me. >.<
Yeek. So tired... ~_~ Started and finished Tuesdays with Morrie last night. BIG MISTAKE. Couldn't sleep with puffy eyes. Goshdarn those tearjerking books. >.< Then again, any book with even a lame amount of sorrow or tragedy of some kind always gets me going. Must be getting old for this.

Ah. I got my learner's permit just this last Wednesday. Beware, citizens of Tacoma, Pam is on the loose. Bwahaha. *cough*

Ugh, don't feel so well. The music's not working this time around, so I feel disoriented at the moment. Lack of background noise at its worst. Stupid computer. It's time for an upgrade. Although I do love Zule to death, he just can't keep up.

Well... been pretty preoccupied lately, which means not keeping up with blogs, webcomics, and the general world. My latest craze is Super Mario Sunshine. I (rather my dad, but I helped) purchased it yesterday while back-to-school shopping with Gen-chan. I sold Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy X to get $24. I feel more than a little ripped off, but it would've been damn hard to get better prices anywhere else. They'll prolly sell 'em for $39 bucks a pop, but what can you do. :\

I'm currently stuck at Ricco Harbor, the last episode with the Yoshi. >_< That damn egg only wants the kind of fruit that can't be picked up. Instead, it has to be punted towards the egg. Getting the fruit by hovering back and forth between switches and ground-pounding them is such a hassle, and it takes about three minutes to get the right fruit, provided the damn thing doesn't roll off the friggin' ledge. Then I gotta softly kick it towards the egg. Yoshi hatches, and from there on I just keep "melting" the poor thing by falling in the water because I can't quite reach the ledge where I'm supposed to go. ~_~

I do love the bonuses stages, though some seem so impossibly hard. >< Ol' skool Mario music though. It's so cute, since it's all sung in "do's". ^^ But after you die that fourth or fortieth time, the music tends to be a little... mocking. Oh Mystical Synthesized Do's, why do you mock me so?

They are making a Dark Cloud 2. I could reserve a copy, but I'll wait. The back said 100+ hours of gameplay. ~_~ I still haven't (technically) finished all of the original, and I've almost got 60 hours on that darn thing. @_x;; Also need to get: Mario Party 4 and Animal Crossing. I'll cut back on PS2 games (for a while anyway; can't forget about Kingdom Hearts) and go back to my true love.

Oh yeah. Got my scheduled fixed. New classes are...

Japanese 1
Drafting 1
AP U.S. History
AP English
Chemistry 1
Pre-Calculus

I'd put the teachers but I'm so damn tired and you probably wouldn't know them anyway. >_< On top of that, I'm involved (or going to be, in one case) in IGNITE (mentoring for freshmen), National Honors Society, Knowledge Bowl, and Writer's Club.

....And I still need a job and to take a driving class. *thud*

I interrupt my gaming day to bring you this update.

Game Informer mentions Depeche Mode in their latest issue. XD XD XD They even have a picture, albeit tiny, of them! It's located in the cover story "Just Can't Get Enough - Grant Theft Auto: Vice City" under New Wave.

Robert Moog invented the synthesizer in 1964; 20 years later, America was under an invasion by an army of pale, mascara-loving Brits that dressed gay like pirates and sang melancholy melodies over percolating sequencer rhythms. Strangely, the little girls loved it, and no band defines new wave better than Depeche Mode (see also: Bad Hair, Bad Clothes).

XD XD If this new game has Depeche Mode music in it, I just might buy it for that. (It also promises to have scores of other wonderful bands, like A Flock of Seagulls and Judas Priest, offering over nine hours of soundtrack.)

...My heart swells that they mention Depeche Mode. *sighs dreamily*

Er, where have I been? Um... with Gen-chan, mostly, and playing video games. Trying to get as many hours in before school starts. *grumble*

This is so true. <_< I remember one time we were trying to get to some Mexican restaurant in Tukwila, and the directions ended up taking us to a Burger King out in the middle of nowhere. Never trusted Yahoo! directions since. Nope.

GC, if you read this, Evin contacted me looking for a ride. I asked my brother, but he says he might go to work tomorrow (which is a complete and utter lie, I've only known him to go to work twice on the weekdays, ever since he began working on the commissary on McChord). Is Kenneth available? Or we could ride a bus, I'm pretty sure I've got a schedule around here somewhere...

Oh no, there goes Tokyo.

Ragabash, whenever you maximize your Clutter page, the main frame disappears. The window has to stay slightly smaller than the screen. >.<
Wufy. (I endured three Blue Screens of Death to bring you this link update.) I told you, Gen-chan, that you should have put why he was licking the sword. >_< Well, anyway, the answer is because he can.

Dark Cloud news: Got to Floor 49 in the Demon Shaft. x_x Only 50 more floors to go, and then the boss. Yay.

Book news: Finished From the Corner of His Eye. After having read three Koontz novels, I think I'm entitled to a proper opinion. Of the three novels I read (the one I previously mentioned, Ticktock, and Hideaway), I only truly liked Ticktock, because there was just more action and comedy. The other two... both of them built up to the final confrontation and then... poof. Fin. There should have been a more dramatic clash than one or two sentences depicting the bad guy's demise. Koontz creates elaborate characters (which are entirely black or white, never grey). Personally, though, I like his short stories better. All of the ones in Strange Highways are really good, in my opinion, because the characters seem more realistic. The "good guys" aren't always so clean, and the "bad guys" aren't always so dirty. But other than that, I guess Koontz is pretty OK. He's nowhere near being on the same level my writing idol Stephen King, but he is an entertaining (if headachey) read.

I must remind myself to call Trevor and arrange for GC and myself to have a ride to the IGNITE training on Tuesday. On the 22nd or 23rd, I also need to get my schedule fixed. >_< They did not give me any Advanced Placement classes, put me in Telecommunications when I didn't even sign up for it, and I have to switch from French 1 to Japanese 1. Argh. >_>

Mmm.... I seriously need to start learning how to cook all this good food my mom makes. I don't know how I'd be able to survive without her Korean cooking when I set out on my own.

Thank You, God, for this bounty which I am going to receive. In the near future, hopefully. But if this doesn't fall through, I'm going to fly (like Fleance) to Maine and be one disgruntled fan. (I never pictured S.K. as an Eminem fan, though, but I can't tell if he really means it or is just being facetious.) And nothing bad better happen to Eddie Dean, either. I can wait happily until late 2003, just as long as the rest of the books do come out roughly three months apart. I don't know if I would be willing to fork over the extra cash for hardback (the first four of The Dark Tower books that I own are paperback), but then again I love the Dark Tower series, and I don't know if I could wait for very long after the fifth one comes out. (Even the paperbacks seem expensive, but they come with illustrations and grace notes...)

Consequently, the previous post might have also been the product of too much Dr Pepper and Depeche Mode. You may have thought that I believed there was no such thing as too much of either, but I think it's true. My headache could have resulted from simply too much of two good things... or maybe not enough.

I wonder if Dark Cloud will have a sequel. If it is, I hope it has a bit more of a plot along the way instead of just scrunching all together at the end (IMNSHO) and not quite so addictive gameplay. I mean, I would hope that it would be a great game, but not to the point where I'd be willing to spend all day and night (and well into the dawn) playing it. >_>;; Sometimes I have a life, when I remember it's still alive.

Hee. Check out Raveth and some others at GC's Deviantart page. I've never really liked main characters in most books, because it's always about them. I mean, sure, s/he IS the main character, but don't you think that sometimes good and bad things should also happen to other characters? That's why I loathe reading fanficiton, because most authors harp on one or two people and leave the rest in obscurity. Sadly, I would think that Raveth is my most fleshed-out creation in this novel, even if the story's really about Asereth. ^^;; Oops. "Terrible past" and all that nonsense. It's the story I've been working on mostly solo, until recently GC expressed much interest with plot-planning, and then drew Luthien licking a sword. Oh, I don't know why I can't resist psychotic evil guys lately, it must be some sort of stage. Well, Raveth's not evil or psychotic, but I like him anyway. Asereth and Raveth both look a little too pretty, but Raveth is still lickable. Shiniki is supposed to have seven fingers on her right hand and only six (only) on her left. She lost one--

...I'd better stop. It's hardly likely more than two people (other than me) will ever read this thing. I simply love to talk about writing, I guess. And maybe Luthien, too. (No, not all of the guys' names have 'th' in them. It just... worked out that three of them happened to have 'th' in their name. I don't know why.)

winamp: Everybody Hurts by R.E.M.
If I were to suddenly go away, I wonder if anyone would think of me. Five years from now, would any of you remember me? Would you suddenly remember that there was once a teenager who styled herself Nataku no Miko, and think about what happened to me? Would I remember you? Five years from now, would I wonder what happened to my old blogging friends? Would I wonder if any of you ever made your dreams or lost sight of them? Where would any of us be? Unexpectedly dead or unexpectedly still alive, or whatever mis/fortune that happens to come in our paths.

I think about the future and I get scared a lot. Maybe it's silly (very likely) to worry about something I have slight influence over, but when I think about the people, both the good and the bad, I wonder if I'll remember my high school chums and enemies. It might not always be possible to keep in touch. I'm sure that truly good friends can start up their relationships at any time, no matter the void between visits, but...

I just wonder where I'll be in five years, I guess. Where would any of us be, really, and would we still remember each other? I tell myself I'd never forget my high school and internet friends, but... I was reading over my journals from years ago, and it's hard to believe that some people I thought were so important to me... weren't.

Of all the things I think about, forgetting about friends is probably one of the worst. Aside from a horribly mutilating accident on my dad's motorcycle, but I trust him more than chance, really.

All this nonsense and mush is probably derived from the dull ache I have in my head from reading too damn much. Deborah Chester, I loved your Alien Chronicles, and thankfully your latest trilogy redeemed itself in the last book. Dean Koontz, you make my head pound and my midn scream with frustration, but I love your characters, dammit. Get to the damn plot already and stop dicking around. Where does it all come together? >_< I probably won't know until I'm at the last page of the book (From the Corner of His Eyes).

I need a hug, but no one's home.

I have a talking slingshot named Steve. He says things when I shoot stuff. Har har. For the past six days I have been deeply engaged in the PS2 game Dark Cloud. That game is so frickin' addicting, it is to gaming what drugs are to a junkie. But I did beat the game today. Technically, though, I still haven't finished it. I still have to explore the Demon Shaft. x_x;; 100 Levels of monster killing and treasure chest opening. Bwahaha. Hahaha. I spend a lot of Fish Points on gems, though, so I'll probably have to go fishing again just to secure more points. Fishing is fun. XD I like to call them names. Every fish that is not a Baron Garayan or a Mardan Garayan is a "hofish." So it's infantile, but it makes me feel better when I have to keep quitting and continuing fishing.

Seda r0xx0rs, even if you only see him, like, once at the beginning of the game, and then he comes at the end to tie the plot together. *rolls eyes* But actually, I do like Toan (the main character) the best. Even if he has a funky hat and wears an orange poncho. XD I don't like Goro or Ungaga though. >_< They're so weak! I mean, really. Goro had the highest defense, but when I went against the Dark Genie's second form, one hit killed him. ¬_¬ And it took three hits to kill Toan. *muttering angrily* I actually didn't beat the game with Toan, though. I beat it with Ruby, the female genie. ^^;; She can attack from a distance and her Magic Power was 212! That's a little less than twice Toan's physical attack power.

When they said the game would offer 50+ hours, they weren't kidding. @_@

Saw The Master of Disguise yesterday. Not the best movie in the world, but it had its funny moments. I wouldn't recommended it, really, unless you want a cheap laugh and a lacking plot.

Let me think... haven't read any good books lately, except for the first two books in the series: The Sword, The Ring, and The Chalice, by Deborah Chester. She's the one who did the Alien Chronicles. Her new series isn't as good as that one (with Ampris and Elrabin and Israi), but it's all right.

Yes, Stauf's comments did get quite old. >_> I liked the first one better, because it was... less violent and bloody. Don't get me wrong, gore makes me happy, but the sequel is just... too strange. >.<

Although I did think the crawling fingers underneath the cheese grater was quite an... enchanting touch. XD As well as the developers' ability to second guess my thoughts. O_O I can't remember the exact hint, but it reminded me of a tablet, and automatically I thought of the notepad, but that's not what the developers were going at. I touch the tablet, and then Stauf chants in a singsong voice, "Wrong kind of tablet!" ...Needless to say, I was quite unnerved.

There's nothing quite like a slice of chicken jalapeno pizza. :D Mmm mmm. The jalapenos give it the kick, and the chicken... it's just there to balance out the jalapenos. Personally, I'm not too fond of chicken. I think it's because there's so many ways to prepare it. o_O That doesn't really make sense, though. Ah. Maybe because every other day it seems like my parents are cooking something with chicken. -_-

Games To Buy For...

PS2
ICO (tentative)
Kingdom Hearts
Jak & Daxter 2
Deus Ex: The Conspiracy (tentative)
Deus Ex 2

GameCube
Super Mario Sunshine
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Mario Kart (working title)
Evolution Worlds (tentative)
The Hobbit (XD)
Mario Party 4
Super Smash Brothers 2 (a sequel for Melee has been confirmed, but I can't find any info on it!)
Tetris World (or whatever the title is)

Hmm. That's quite a list, considering I still haven't beaten Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy X, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, and Jak & Daxter (well, kinda; Gen-chan beat it, but I was there). Heh. Notice how all the ones I haven't beaten are PS2 games. XD But Orphen is really pissing me off, and so is FFX. Jak & Daxter makes me kind of nauseous, and I don't think I'm ready for the gore-fest that is Devil May Cry (although it does look like lots of fun).

Oh yeah, I also beat FFVIII a couple weeks back. The ending was trippy and not worth my time. -_- I wish I could demand back the wasted hours. Of all the FF games, I'm betting that one was the WORST EVER. FFVII will always be the best. ^_^

I should try to beat that annoying boss in Orphen, but man! He always pushes me off the edge before I can get his health down. It's just not fair. >_< I really don't like the battle system for Orphen, and especially how you can't (usually) heal in battles. Grr.

I always try to make it a point to learn something new each day, and today I did. The voice actor for Marth, in SSB Melee, is Midorikawa Hikaru, the same voice actor for Tamahome. :D Now I know what Marth reminds me of a girl! *cymbal crash* Well, honestly. No normal guy poses like that. Even Ness has a better pose.

BTW, Gen-chan, the voice actor for Toan in Dark Cloud is not the same as Young Link's. I checked, and none of the names reminded me of the ones I wrote down at your house.
